Minda to manage ASSIST Therapy Services

One of South Australia’s oldest and most respected disability service providers has been selected to manage the state’s ASSIST Therapy Services.

Minda, a highly regarded South Australian not-for-profit disability service provider, will take over as the new provider of ASSIST by the end of the year.

ASSIST Therapy Services provide high quality in-home and clinic-based allied health and therapy services – including occupational therapy, psychology, physiotherapy, speech pathology and dietetics – for adults with disability.

Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink said Minda had shown, during a comprehensive tender process, that the organisation could deliver services to ensure ASSIST clients continue to receive the supports they need.

“Continuity of quality service for our clients has been our highest priority, as well as making sure our staff are well looked after, as we have undertaken the process to find a new nongovernment manager for ASSIST,” said Minister Lensink.

Under the agreement with Minda, all ASSIST Therapy Services staff will be offered the opportunity to transfer to the new provider with their terms and conditions.

“It is terrific to see that Minda is looking forward to welcoming ASSIST Therapy Services staff who will play a key role in ensuring continuity of client care,” said Minister Lensink.

ASSIST will continue to provide regular services and supports for its clients until the transition to Minda is complete.

Minda’s Chief Executive Officer Cathy Miller said the organisation’s priority was providing high quality support and services to people with a disability in South Australia.
